Progress & success
The horse is a zodiac animal. The familiar expression ma dao cheng gong connects the arrival of a horse with success; this design turns that idea into encouragement.
Inside this paper pattern
A horse in profile stretches its four legs beneath a curved neck and flowing tail. The sourced octagonal border is retained, with small floral incisions added to its body.
A wish to give
Choose a paper color and take your time with the openings. Export your finished piece as a keepsake or share it with someone you care about. Meanings in folk art vary by place and occasion; the wish you add can be personal.
